To thank you for your confidence, I'm giving you my Faithful Writer Resources list. It includes examples of all kinds of spiritual writing as well as resources for improving your skills for any kind of writing. This is a working list, and I will have updated copies at all my retreats or workshops. I welcome your suggestions to add to the list!

Take my voice and let me sing
Always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
Filled with messages from Thee.
Take my intellect and use
Every pow’r as Thou shalt choose.
Excerpted from a hymn by Frances R. Havergal, 1874
This is the prayer I wrote for my first spiritual writing retreat, and it is a prayer I offer to anyone wishing to use their writing as part of building their relationship with the living God:
Heavenly Father, we are here to cultivate a gift from you—our ability to write, and through our writing to draw closer to you and serve you. Teach and inspire us, we pray, to use this gift as a conduit for your light and love in a world that needs both so desperately.
May we always be:
open to hearing Spirit’s still small voice
deaf to our inner critic
fearless in proclaiming your messages
faithful in seeking you in our life and work
You have promised that when two or three are gathered in your name, you will be in their midst. We thank you and welcome your presence among us. Give us confidence in your guidance of our writing that we may use it in ever greater service to you.
