A New Year…A New Beginning

A New Year…A New Beginning

By Elizabeth Cottrell

We can’t go back, but we can begin again.

We can’t undo our mistakes, but we can learn from them.

Forget getting back to normal or “new normal.” Who decides that anyway? Only you. If we’re honest, we don’t really want everything to stay the same. Change is an essential part of growth.

Holy Scripture—as well as words of wisdom from philosophers and theologians through the ages—remind us we all have, deep within us, the power to change direction and start anew.

Take a deep breath, and choose to believe the message in the inspirational video below. No matter how dark your world or how deep your despair, you are special and you are loved. Believe it, and choose to start this year with your head up, your heart open, and your eyes clearly focused on the road ahead.

Take my hand, and whatever this next year holds, we’ll take the next steps together, with God by our side.
